Rangers fans predict big things from Jermain Defoe next season

Jermain Defoe posted a video of himself in pre-season training on Twitter – and some of the Rangers fans on Twitter have responded with huge excitement.

The 36-year-old joined in January on an 18-month loan deal from Premier League club Bournemouth and will hope to leave his impact on the Scottish giants next season.

He’s played 20 games for the Light Blues so far, scoring an impressive eight goals and supplying seven assists too.

The former England international has been a prolific goalscorer nearly everywhere he’s been in his career and it seems he is still capable in front of goal in Scotland.

Defoe has now scored 250 goals senior goals in his career and his experience is a major boost to Steven Gerrard’s side ahead of the next year.

A selection of Rangers supporters on social media are convinced that Defoe will be a key player at Ibrox next season.

The Gers finished as runners-up to champions Celtic in the league last season, but will be hoping they can dethrone them in the next campaign.

They made significant progress during Gerrard in his first year and their great rivals are now managed by Neil Lennon.
