Rangers were unable to continue their perfect start to the season as they slipped to a 2-0 home defeat against bitter rivals Celtic at Ibrox yesterday.
Odsonne Edouard’s first half goal put Celtic into a deserved lead and the Gers huffed and puffed thereafter in order to try and get back into the game but lacked quality and invention.
Steven Gerrard opted to go into the game without proper wide players and that cost his side, especially in the first half, but it was a poor team display even accounting for that.
Many Rangers fans took to Twitter to praise experienced midfielder Steven Davis, with many feeling he was the only one in blue who actually turned up and put in something close to his best yesterday.

It wasn’t enough to get the result on the day – it was a huge opportunity missed in terms of how Rangers failed to put on a show as a team – but Davis still got praise on an individual level online.
He was brought back to the club to add something extra in the big games and he did that yesterday; if more of his team-mates had matched his level of performance, perhaps Rangers would have got a result.
