Rangers came away from a tricky Europa League trip to face Legia Warsaw last night with a 0-0 to show for their efforts.
It was a testing encounter for Steven Gerrard’s men, but they kept their composure – as well as a clean sheet – to set themselves up to finish the job at Ibrox next week.
They have to be careful of the away goal on Thursday, but they’ve given themselves a fantastic opportunity to get into the Europa League group stages for the second season running.
That backline was marshalled by James Tavernier, who put in a captain’s performance to ensure that Rangers came away with a result.

The supporters on Twitter were delighted with Tavernier’s display as they go in search of a European run that goes further than last season’s exit at the group stage.
It wasn’t a night for particular flair and as much as getting a vital away goal would have been a strong bonus, a clean sheet and a good display are more than enough to be getting on with.
