Rangers fans praise ‘excellent’ midfielder Ross McCrorie

Ross McCrorie completed 90 minutes in the draw to Hibernian on Wednesday – and some Rangers fans on Twitter were blown away by the quality of his performance.

The Gers were held 1-1 on Boxing Day at Ibrox and were dented by a late equaliser in the Scottish Premiership clash.

They missed the chance to gain some momentum ahead of the Old Firm clash on Saturday and are now three points behind rivals and leaders Celtic in the table going into the fixture.

Rangers were made to pay for missing vital chances to kill off the game at Ibrox, but manager Steven Gerrard should still be able to take some positives.

Enforcer McCrorie was a solid presence in the defensive midfield role and helped protect the back four for large parts.

The 20-year-old central midfielder stuck to his task well by breaking up play and being tidy in possession, which allowed his teammates in front to flourish.

A selection of Rangers fans on social media were impressed by McCrorie’s latest display and there is no doubt they will need the youngster at his best if they are to get one over on Celtic at the weekend.

Here are some of the Rangers fans applauding academy graduate McCrorie:
