Rangers fans pleased the Glenn Middleton is set for loan exit

Glenn Middleton is set for a loan move away from Ibrox – and some Rangers fans on Twitter are pleased about the news.

Gers manager Steven Gerrard has confirmed that the 19-year-old is “very close” to a move to Holland for the upcoming campaign.

The Scottish Sun have confirmed that Dutch second-tier club NAC Breda are the team he’s linking up with on loan, and they were relegated from the Eredivisie last season.

“Glenn Middleton is very close to going on loan in Holland. Fair play to him going for such a challenge. That will be good for his development, playing for a team challenging in front of passionate fans,” Gerrard said, as quoted by the club’s official Twitter account.

Middleton made a decent impact in the Rangers first-team last season and is someone with great potential.

The teenager played 28 senior games last term, scoring five goals and supplying five assists in return.

He is a versatile attacker that can play anywhere across the frontline, but is particular dangerous as a left-winger where he can cut inside with his pace and trickery.

A selection of Rangers supporters are delighted that Middleton looks set to be heading for a temporary exit and believe it will help him in the long run.

He’s certainly capable of helping the Scottish giants if he sticks around, but it may be more beneficial to enjoy more minutes elsewhere and sharpen up in attack.

There is stiff competition in the wide areas at Ibrox and the rising star needs regular game time.
