Rangers recorded an away victory against Hamilton on Saturday afternoon in the Scottish Cup – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter praised Ianis Hagi for his performance.

The Gers secured a win in the fifth round of the cup and were helped by a much stronger second-half display.

Scott Arfield opened the scoring for the visitors, but the teams went in level 1-1 at half-time courtesy of Lewis Smith’s equslier.

But Steven Gerrard’s stepped on the gas in the second period with goals from Joe Aribo, Alfredo Morelos and a second from Arfield to help progress to the next round.

A selection of Rangers supporters on social media picked out Hagi for his standout display at the weekend and felt he was instrumental.

The central midfielder has made quite the impression since his arrival on loan during the January transfer window and he started once again for Gerrard’s team.

He looked a real creative spark going forward with his passing and link-up play as he looked to get the visitors on the front foot.

The 21-year-old Romanian looks like he’s going to be central to the teams plans for the rest of the season and is starting to build some real momentum,
