Rangers fans on react as club linked with Watford striker Andre Gray

Rangers have been linked with a shock move for Watford striker Andre Gray on loan this summer with the ex-Burnley star struggling to break into the starting 11 at Vicarage Road – and Rangers fans are excited on Twitter.

The Evening Times have claimed Rangers are looking to land the 27-year-old on loan this summer, with doubts surrounding the future of Alfredo Morelos and Kyle Lafferty ‘set for the exit door’.

Rangers could have made three summer signings already by the time they strike a deal for Gray, who cost Watford a whopping £18million (GET) in the summer of 2017. Spotrac claim his contract is worth £70,000 a week.

Jordan Jones has joined Rangers on a pre-contract agreement from Kilmarnock, while Jake Hastie is close to joining the Gers from Motherwell. Greg Stewart could also be moving to Ibrox on a free transfer from Birmingham City.

Gray has hardly been out of favour at Watford this season. Turning out for the Hornets in 31 league and cup appearances, the uncapped Englishman has scored nine goals and created three more for Javi Gracia’s side.

Rangers fans reacted to the news that their club are interested in signing Gray from Watford, with the majority desperate to see Gray pull on the Light Blue shirt. But some believe that Gray is a player beyond Rangers’ reach.
