Rangers recorded a brilliant 2-0 home win over Porto on Thursday night in the Europa League group stages – but there were still some concerns on Twitter from fans about the performance of Brandon Barker.
The Light Blues produced an excellent second-half display to overcome their Portuguese opponents at Ibrox.
Alfredo Morelos scored the opener with a tidy finisher in the 69th minute, before shortly after Steven Davis’ deflected effort went in to wrap up three points in Europe.
Steven Gerrard’s side managed to stand strong defensively against Porto and got their reward in the end going forward.
The Scottish giants still have two games left to try book their spot in the knockout rounds, but a win away to Feyenoord in their next European match will secure that.
A selection of Rangers supporters on social media were not happy with Barker’s contribution despite an excellent win against Porto.
The 23-year-old winger started the contest and was substituted off in the 65th minute after failing to make much of an impact going forward.
He was unable to seriously threaten the Porto backline and one goal in eight appearances since his move to Ibrox suggests he’s got work to do to push himself up the pecking order in Gerrard’s squad.
Here are some Rangers fans on Barker:
Unfortunately for him he wasn’t great. Looked a bit nervous and out his depth. Put the effort in but it wasn’t happening. Hope it doesn’t dent his confidence and he can come on to some form.

I hate tearing into a player after 1 bad game, but im confused by Brandon Barker. Tonight he was that poor he almost looked injured. Slow, poor passing, didn’t press, effectively a man down. Haven’t seen too much of him but I’d say he’s behind Ojo & Jones (when fit) #Rangers

Unfortunately Barker has been like a man down tonight

Like we were playing on ice at times. Barker not convincing at all but a good result in the end. I have big love for that boy Alfredo #RFC
