Rangers fans have heaped praise on Ianis Hagi after latest comments

Ianis Hagi has been quoted by Rangers’ official Twitter account as saying that he has always wanted to play for a club that have the mentality to improve as Rangers do – and Gers supporters have heaped praise on the Romanian.

Hagi, 22, joined Rangers initially on loan in January before that move was made permanent in the summer. He has since clocked up 41 appearances for Steven Gerrard’s side – scoring seven goals and laying on 12 assists.

His form is only improving. In 28 games this term, he has had a hand in a goal every two games – scoring four and creating 10. He is proving to be value for money at £4million (Sun) and £19,000 a week (Sport.Ro).

Talking to the club’s official website, Hagi’s comments were posted on Twitter – describing Rangers as the perfect club for him in terms of drive and mentality and he believes he is growing under the guidance of Gerrard.

The 14-time Romania international had to tend with a place on the bench for a spell of games this season, as Gerrard combined Alfredo Morelos with Kemar Roofe and Ryan Kent in the final third.

But now, he has started five of the club’s last six Scottish Premiership matches. Many Rangers fans responded to his comments on Twitter, praising the son of footballing legend Gheorge for his mentality.
