Rangers are through to the semi-finals of the League Cup following a convincing 4-0 win over Ayr at Ibrox last night.

Steven Gerrard’s men have bounced back with style since their recent Old Firm defeat and this was another confidence-boosting display.

Picking out a star from the Rangers XI was certainly difficult. Ovie Ejaria and Ryan Kent, the two Liverpool loanees, both excelled. As did Glenn Middleton. The youngster scored twice in an excellent display.

Rangers are also starting to fall back in love with a player who had seemingly run his race at Ibrox. Die-hard Rangers fan Andy Halliday captained his side at Ibrox last night and put in a brilliant display.

He bagged two assists in a captain’s performance and fully earned all the plaudits he received.

It has not been plain sailing for the utility man. He was turfed out by Pedro Caixinha, heading for a tough time in Azerbaijan on loan. Upon his return many Rangers fans were hyper-critical of his, admittedly, sub-par performances

But he has knuckled down this season and Gerrard has reinstalled a belief in him that is paying off dividends.

Here is some of the best reaction from Rangers fans…
