Rangers fans hail Morelos’ outstanding four-goal display in thumping of Kilmarnock

The Scottish Cup most likely represents Rangers best chance of silverware this season and they continued their progression in that competition in impressive style last night.

Kilmarnock have proved tricky opposition at times this season but that was not the case at Ibrox last night as Rangers blew them away 5-0.

Alfredo Morelos put the Gers 1-0 up after just seven minutes but it was Daniel Bachmann’s 25th minute red card that helped open the floodgates for Steven Gerrard’s side and the Colombian striker took full advantage.

He piled in with three more goals while Andy Halliday also got on the scoresheet to make for an extremely satisfying night for Rangers.

Morelos was undoubtedly the star of the show as Rangers got back to their best in emphatic fashion and underlined his importance to Gerrard’s plans once more.

Jermain Defoe will take time to get up to speed but in the meantime, Morelos is relishing being the main man and his goalscoring contribution will be vital if Rangers are to scoop any silverware this season.
