Rangers qualified from the Europa League Round of 32 by beating Braga on Wednesday evening – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter picked out defender George Edmundson for special praise for his performance.
The Gers had previously earned a 3-2 home win against the Portuguese side last week at Ibrox in the first leg and that left it evenly poised for Wednesday’s second leg.
Steven Gerrard’s side recorded an impressive 1-0 away victory in the second meeting to progress in the Europa League and they will now face an exciting wait for the last-16 draw.
The Light Blues missed a penalty at the start of the first-half through Ianis Hagi, but fortunately for him it didn’t cost the Scottish giants.
Ryan Kent, who had earlier missed a great chance, tucked away a calm left-footed finish in the 61st minute and that was enough to secure the result.

A selection of Rangers supporters on social media were left raving about Edmundson for his contribution on the European stage.
The centre-back has not been a regular in the side during his first season at Ibrox and came in for just his 12th appearance of the campaign across all competitions.
But the 22-year-old didn’t look out of place in the slightest and was dominant in the air alongside his centre-back partner Connor Goldson.
They knew a clean sheet was going to be enough to seal progression to the next round and a mammoth defensive display from the backline earned that.
