A number of Glasgow Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Steven Gerrard’s update about Ibrox defender Borna Barisic.
The 27-year-old has missed the last two Rangers games – the win over Livingston and the defeat to Kilmarnock – after sustaining a hip injury in the Scottish Cup win over Hamilton Academical.
Previous reports in the likes of the Scottish Sun claimed that Barisic faced a last-gasp fitness sweat ahead of Rangers’ Europa League last-32 first-leg meeting against Braga at Ibrox.
However, Gerrard confirmed on Wednesday that the Croatian left-back played the majority of the training session the previous day and, crucially, is available for selection in the big game.
🎙️ SG: Squad is looking good, Borna played the majority of yesterday’s session so is available for selection.

Would play that domestically but Kent for me is huge in Europe and if Barisic is back we need our left hand side to be back to its best. Thought Kamberi done well on Sunday though.

If were on our game and Braga play their normal formation I think Tavernier and Barisic could have a field day. Their keeper also looks like a flapper

Barisic, a £2.2million signing from Croatian club NK Osijek in the summer of 2018 (Transfermarkt), has registered a superb 14 assists, plus two goals, in 33 Rangers appearances in all competitions this term.
Rangers will be hoping he’s firing on all cylinders, as is the rest of the team, against a side that has not lost for 10 matches in all competitions and has beaten Primeira Liga giants Benfica, Porto and Sporting Lisbon this season.
