Rangers fans fuming with performance of John Flanagan against St Mirren

The ex-Liverpool man didn’t adhere himself to supporters with a lacklustre performance.

Rangers defeated St Mirren 1-0 at Ibrox last night thanks to a goal from Jermain Defoe. The Gers struggled to get back into their stride during their first league game after the winter break.

The result did keep the Light Blues on course to challenge Celtic for the title, however, and three points are ultimately the main thing.

That will be a big game for the Gers and the boss will know that his team must be at their best.

After a disappointing performance last night, Rangers supporters started to dissect the scrappy win on social media.

One man who came in for some criticism was ex-Liverpool man John Flanagan.

The 27-year-old signed for the Gers in 2018 and largely operates as a right-back.

He was cautioned last night and his play was sloppy on a night where the Rangers fans’ frustrations grew.

Flanagan signed for Rangers on a free transfer and has played 38 games for Gerrard’s team.

Following last night, however, he came in for criticism from supporters, particularly on Twitter.
