Rangers booked their place in the third qualifying round of the Europa League with a 2-0 aggregate win over Progres Niederkorn, drawing the second leg 0-0 – but Rangers fans are completely fed up with Borna Barisic.
Barisic, 26, struggled last season and is yet to convince Steven Gerrard since he moved to Ibrox from NK Osijek 12 months ago for a fee of £2.2million (Record). It looks as though he is struggling to change that this time around.
Rangers went into the match with a 2-0 advantage thanks to goals from Sheyi Ojo and Scott Arfield last week. But Gerrard was left frustrated on Thursday night in Luxembourg as Rangers were held to a 0-0 draw.
It is a big improvement on the embarrassing loss Rangers suffered to Progres under Pedro Caixinha, but they have qualified and continue their qualifying campaign without conceding a goal thus far.

Barisic started and finished the first leg of the first round against St. Joseph’s, laying on two assists. But he has been left out of the squad for the second St. Joseph’s leg, and the first Progres leg. On Thursday, he was hooked after 45.
Gerrard had seen enough at half-time and Andy Halliday replaced the Croatia cap on the left side of defence, with no signs of injury. Rangers fans reacted to Barisic’s display, and many more are fed up with the defender.
Gerrard said after the match that he hooked Barisic because he had picked up a yellow card. But fans are starting to become annoyed by Barisic.
