Rangers wonderkid Ross McCausland caught the eye once again for the youth team. The Rangers youth academy brushed St Mirren aside yesterday with a confident 4-1 win and McCausland was the star.
McCausland opened the scoring for Rangers’ youngsters on 38 minutes. He pounced on a loose ball in the box after Matty Yates’ headed effort was blocked. This put Rangers 1-0 up at the break.
Five minutes into the second half, McCausland doubled his tally. The Northern Ireland U17 starlet pounced on a rebound after Matthew Henderson hit the woodwork. Thanks to McCausland, Rangers were in control after 50 minutes.

Chris McKee made it 3-0 on 63 minutes, St Mirren pulled one back on 70 minutes but Dire Mebude restored the three-goal advantage late on. He replaced McCausland and also got on the scoresheet in the 87th minute.
McCausland was the standout player for Rangers’ youth team. The 16-year-old operates as an attacking midfielder or as a striker and he is showing early signs that he could be a special talent.
Here are some Rangers fans discussing McCausland’s future after his latest display for the youth team.
