Feyenoord failed to put the sword to Rangers at Ibrox on Thursday night as Steven Gerrard’s side earned all three points thanks to Sheyi Ojo’s winner – but Rangers fans were impressed with Feyenoord number 10 Steven Berghuis.

Rangers dominated the first half, and should have gone into the break with more than just a one-goal lead. James Tavernier missed a penalty while Connor Goldson headed a couple of decent chances over the bar.

Morelos could have been awarded a second penalty but the referee waved it away, before Ojo lashed home a stinging effort past Kenneth Vermeer from 20 yards to put Rangers in the lead. The second half was very different.

Indeed, The Gers could not keep a hold of possession and the class of Feyenoord begun to show. Berghuis – who has five goals and four assists in nine appearances this season – was becoming more involved.

A 15-time Netherlands international, Berghuis initially joined Feyenoord on loan from Watford in the summer of 2016 before completing a permanent move a season later for £5.8million (Watford Observer). He has scored 49 goals in 129 games.

Rangers fans admitted on Twitter that Berghuis looked the best of the Feyenoord side, with many applauding his performance against their side.
