Rangers fans discuss the possibility of signing Andy Carroll
Steven Gerrard is a former team-mate but Rangers fans clearly don’t want him at Ibrox.
West Ham United have confirmed that Andy Carroll is leaving the club this summer. The former England striker is out of contract and has not been offered a new deal at the club. It will make him a free agent in the summer and teams can bring him in for free.
Immediately, plenty of teams have been discussed as a potential location for the frontman.
Rangers are one such team. Ibrox boss Steven Gerrard has a good relationship with the 30-year-old frontman after playing together at Liverpool.
The Gateshead-born frontman, who West Ham paid a reported (The Telegraph) £16.5 million back in 2013 is undoubtedly a brilliant footballer. Strong, excellent in the air and surprisingly technically gifted his career has been blighted by injury in recent seasons.

Rangers fans have been discussing the possibility of bringing in Carroll on Twitter. Of course, some of the Ibrox faithful see the potential in a pay-as-you-play type deal for the striker.
However, Carroll was most recently on £80,000-a-week at West Ham, according to The Times. Supplementing that sort of salary is simply impossible for Rangers to consider.
The general consensus from the Ibrox faithful is that fully fit and firing they would have Carroll at Rangers in a heartbeat. However, given his recent injury record, the majority would like to see Steven Gerrard steer well clear.
A don’t want Andy Carroll or Stuart Downing anywhere near a Rangers shirt!

Would probably bankrupt us in medical bills

I think he’d be decent for us but he’s so injury prone he’d barely be fit to play

No chance injury prone

Would rather Roy Carroll back

Absolutely no chance keep him well away from our club

A fit Andy Carroll would be a great addition to the squad, but he’s only fit for a week or 2 at a time. Would rather use the money on a couple of players that would manage a full 90 minutes every week.

Yeah he’d be great at serving half time pies.
