Brentford have announced that Lewis MacLeod will be leaving the club in the summer. His contract at the club expires in June and no agreement has been made over a new deal.
It has seen plenty of Rangers fans discussing whether or not they would bring him back.

Nah, we have so many midfielders already mate. Loved him but he’s barely played since he left.

Lewis MacLeod: back up North to Rangers… or a 237 bus ride to Rangers? ??

Macleod left Rangers in January 2015 in a deal worth around £850,000, as reported by Scotzine. Speaking to the Daily Mail, MacLeod would later state he would love to return and was not overly keen on his Rangers exit in the first place. However, the club was still in turmoil off the pitch and he decided to make the move.
So it would be a great nostalgia switch for Rangers. He also showcased excellent form at the start of the current season. After finally battling through injury trouble he found himself in the starting picture at Griffin Park. So he is good enough for Rangers and whilst they have plenty of central midfielders, MacLeod as a number 10 could certainly work.
But he has played just once in the Championship in 2019. New boss Thomas Frank used him sparingly compared to Dean Smith and a hamstring injury also held him back.
MacLeod is an incredibly talented player, Rangers fans know that. However, considering his injury record and the bulk of midfielders Steven Gerrard already has, bringing him back to Ibrox would be a huge risk.
