Rangers fans disagree with Steven Gerrard’s comments on Alfredo Morelos

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard insists that forward Alfredo Morelos is regaining his form – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter have strongly disagreed with the comments.

The centre-forward has featured in the last five games across all competitions since returning from a calf injury and managed just one goal in that time.

He’s a goal machine that has netted 29 times in 40 matches across all competitions this campaign, but is going through a dry spell by his standard at the moment.

The 23-year-old harshly had one goal ruled out in midweek during the devastating 2-1 defeat to Kilmarnock, which was another huge blow in the title bid and leaves them 10 points adrift of leaders Celtic.

He will be hoping he can rediscover his best form on Saturday when the Light Blues host Livingston at Ibrox in the league.

Gerrard has shown his support for Morelos in his pre-match press conference and is confident that the South American is finding his feet again.

“The signs of late is that Alfredo is getting back to where we all need him,” Gerrard said, as quoted by the club’s official Twitter account.

A selection of Rangers supporters on social media disagree that Morelos is back to his best and believe he’s capable of so much more, with one slating his display in midweek against Kilmarnock.

There is immense pressure on him to hit the ground running straight away after an injury problem and that comes following an injury blow to teammate Jermain Defoe, who provides great competition at striker usually.
