Rangers are looking for a new manager after Steven Gerrard left Ibrox, and Gers fans are desperate for the club to bring Gio van Bronckhorst back.

Van Bronckhorst, 46, has sparkled during his early foray into management – after a glittering career as a player. He won five titles, one at Rangers.

He played well over 100 times for Rangers, scoring 22 goals – and winning five trophies. Two of those were Scottish Premiership titles.

Van Bronckhorst has also won a Premier League with Arsenal, and two La Liga titles with Barcelona. As a manager, he won Eredvisie with Feyenoord.

He has the track and record and similarly to Gerrard, he is still a young manager with an incredible aura about him. The Sun say he is keen.

What are Rangers fans saying about van Bronckhorst?

Clearly, he is the choice of Rangers fans too. The Dutch gaffer is renowned for his attacking style of football, managing Feyenoord 176 times.

Not only did he win the 2016-17 Eredivisie title with the Dutch outfit, but he also won four cup competitions – something Rangers need to do.

Many argue that Gerrard only won one trophy out of a possible nine. But he improved the Gers in Europe no end, and stopped Celtic from 10 in a row.

But what he did fail to do, is win in the Cups and clearly, van Bronckhorst could change that. He would heal the loss of icon Gerrard.

Many Rangers fans have taken to Twitter after hearing of the news that van Bronckhorst could be targeted by the Gers board – and are all for it.
