Alfredo Morelos earned his second cap for Colombia on Friday as he came on to the field of play for the last five minutes of his country’s 1-0 win over Japan – and Rangers fans are delighted for their striker.
Morelos, 22, has been in fantastic form this season. His 29 goals and 11 assists this season warranted a call-up to the Colombia squad once again, and he was given his third cap – replacing Bayern Munich’s James Rodriguez.
Though he had little time to make an impact, Morelos will have been delighted to have got onto the pitch in the yellow of Colombia. It is his second cap after playing 13 minutes of a 2-1 win over Venezuela back in September.

The striker’s future at Ibrox remains somewhat a doubt despite signing a new contract earlier this month. He has been linked with the likes of Borussia Dortmund, OGC Nice and Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City.
The former HJK Helsinki striker is likely to find competition a lot more fierce at international level. The likes of Falcao, Luis Muriel and Duvan Zapata are also fighting for a place.
But Rangers fans were delighted to see their striker earn a second cap for his country. Many congratulated their talisman, while others were surprised he only got a few minutes.
