Ianis Hagi made his first start for Rangers in their win over Hibernian on Wednesday night – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter hailed him for his performance.

Steven Gerrard’s team had to come from behind to end up securing a 2-1 victory at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership fixture.

Paul Hanlon put the visitors in front in the 35th minute, but the Gers did manage to equalise just before half-time through defender George Edmundson.

The Light Blues were much more switched on in the second-half and eventually secured three points when Hagi fired in a half-volley from a tough angle in the 84th minute.

It means that Rangers remain second in the table seven points adrift of Celtic, but do have a game in hand on their Old Firm rivals.

Hagi was the match-winner in midweek with his stunning goal and he’s quickly made himself a real favourite.

The 21-year-old Romanian made his Rangers debut off the bench in the draw with Aberdeen at the weekend, but was thrown into the starting XI for Hibs.

He is an attacking midfielder that looked a threat from a central position and showed his incredible technique for his goal.

The youngster was also heavily involved in trying to create chances throughout the contest and it looks like he could be a brilliant January loan signing from Genk.
