Rangers fans believe midfielder Lassana Coulibaly is a shadow of what we was

Rangers were beaten 1-0 at home to Aberdeen on Wednesday night – and some of the club’s supporters took out their frustration at midfielder Lassana Coulibaly for his performance.

Steven Gerrard’s side missed the opportunity to remain at the top of the league table, as they dropped down to second to make way for Kilmarnock.

The Light Blues fell behind early due to a Scott McKenna goal which turned out to be the winer, while both teams saw a man sent off for two booking.

Alfredo Morelos received his third dismissal of the season for the Gers, as he continues to provide a headache for the manager with his discipline problems.

A selection of Rangers fans on social media decided to vent their anger towards Coulibaly for his performance and he was substituted off shortly into the second-half.

The 22-year-old was a big hit at Ibrox when he first joined in the summer, but has struggled since he returned from a hamstring injury late September.

He was unable to provide any kind of attacking spark for a lacklustre Rangers and didn’t catch the eye in midfield for any industrious work.

There are a number of options for the centre of the park within the squad and it will be interesting to see if Coulibaly retains his spot for the trip to Dundee at the weekend.

Here are some of the Rangers fan tweets on Coulibaly’s performance:
