Rangers fans are saying the same thing about Barisic, amid post-match claims

Gary McAllister did little to allay fears Borna Barisic could end up leaving Rangers – and Rangers fans have had their say, after beating Celtic

Barisic, 28, produced the difference on Sunday as Rangers earned three points against Old Firm rivals Celtic – thanks to Filip Helander’s header.

But it was Croatia international Barisic’s beautifully-flighted, inswinging corner that did the business. Helander headed home, past Joe Hart.

The left-back, who was a part of Croatia’s Euro 2020 squad, has been poor so far this season – but it was a different story on Sunday at Ibrox.

A brilliant display, capped off by an assist in a 1-0 win – and Barisic was hugely praised by fans. But after the match, it looked like a farewell.

Rangers beat Celtic: What do fans think of Barisic and his future?

Steven Gerrard has admitted Rangers need to sell, with £14.4million (Athletic) of losses over the last year. Losing to Malmo has cost Rangers.

So, they may have to cash in and rumours on social media suggest Barisic could be the man that is set to be sold. McAllister responded.

“You never know,” assistant manager McAllister was quoted as saying by The Record, when asked about defender Barisic’s future.

“What I would say, that just might be a wee reminder to himself that that’s his level. That was Borna Barisic back at his very best. And it’s good to see.”

Plenty of Rangers players have been linked with an exit – Alfredo Morelos, Glen Kamara, Ryan Kent, James Tavernier and Ianis Hagi.

But it looks as though if a big-name sale could happen, then it might be Barisic. Rangers fans, though, have implored their defender to stay.

Others, though, feel it is inevitable that Barisic is off – wishing him well.
