Rangers produced an impressive performance to win 3-0 away to St Johnstone in midweek – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter picked out Ianis Hagi for immense praise for his individual display.

Steven Gerrard’s side maintained their 16-point gap at the top of the league table over second-placed Celtic, albeit the latter do have three games in hand to play.

Kemar Roofe and Glen Kamara were both on the scoresheet for the away side within the opening half an hour, plus there was a goal early in the second-half for Hagi on his return to the starting XI.

The Scottish giants host Hibernian next on Boxing Day at Ibrox and are continuing to show they are serious with their title bid this season.

A selection of Rangers supporters on social media singled out Hagi for his contribution on Wednesday against St Johnstone and felt he was a real standout.

The 22-year-old attacking midfielder blasted in a finish for his goal, while going forward he looked a threat throughout the contest.

He’s not been a regular starter in Gerrard’s side this season, but surely gave plenty for the manager to think about following his latest efforts.
