Charlie Adam is looking towards the next chapter of his playing career after being told by Stoke City that he is free to pursue options elsewhere.
The 33-year-old was completely frozen out by Gary Rowett but has featured in 11 matches since Nathan Jones took charge at the Bet365 Stadium.
Now is the time for Adam to look forward to a new challenge though and the Daily Mail have linked him with a move to Rangers or Hearts.
Adam played 76 games for the Gers between 2003 and 2009 prior to joining Blackpool of the Championship.

In the latest piece by the Daily Mail, Adam says: “Obviously the Rangers stuff is something that’d interest me. The club is going in the right direction. Steven (Gerrard) has put his authority on the club.”
The likeable Scot clearly still holds Rangers in high regard. Having spent time at Ibrox as a player he would naturally relish the chance to finish his playing days at such a massive club.
Gerrard would be wise not to be lured in by his former Liverpool team-mate’s ‘come and get me’ plea.
The veteran has barely played any football and he already has enough players within his ranks to provide the injection of experience.

Jermain Defoe, Scott Arfield, Allan McGregor and Steven Davis are all in their thirties and Rangers don’t need any more players coming to the end of their careers.
Adam would be a sentimental signing. The club boasts lots of capable youngsters coming through the ranks and his arrival would only serve to hamper their first-team opportunities.
