Chris Sutton has slammed Rangers defender Andy Halliday as ‘bang average’ on BT Sport as the Old Firm derby fallout rumbles on.
The Hoops defeated their fierce rivals 2-1 at Parkhead on Sunday and Sutton has been offering his thoughts on Rangers’ conduct.
An ex-Celtic player, Sutton netted 63 goals in 130 appearances for the Hoops and couldn’t resist a dig at the Gers.

He told BT Sport: “We saw Andy Halliday – a player who they were talking about at Ibrox getting a DVD out about him because he made one tackle – which was 80-20 in his favour.
“He’s made a couple of throw-ins this season too.
“And he’s a bang average player who’s trying to create melees that aren’t there.”
The 27-year-old has proved versatile for boss Steven Gerrard this season and has three goals and three assists to his name.
Halliday was shown a second yellow card on Sunday following the final whistle, sitting out of last night’s game with Hearts.
TBR Verdict
Watching Sutton and ex-Rangers man Alex Rae at loggerheads with each other made for uncomfortable viewing.

They are clearly both passionate about the clubs which they used to play for.
Sutton is quite clearly on the wind-up with these comments and it appeared to work on Rae, who couldn’t resist biting back.
As if seeing Celtic 13 points clear at the top of the Premiership isn’t enough, Sutton seems hellbent on enjoying the bragging rights a little while longer yet.
