Liverpool and Manchester City are both said to be interested in a move for Villarreal forward Samuel Chukwueze.
The Daily Mail suggest the Premier League title challengers are both keen on the Nigerian talent. A fee in the region of £54 million would activate his release clause, but both clubs could tempt the Yellow Submarine with a lower bid.
It again throws into context Rangers’ excellent performances against the La Liga side in the Europa League.
Rangers were unfortunate not to advance from the group stages in the competition, especially after holding the Spanish side to two draws.

Chukwueze came on in both games with the hope of his pace and trickery causing an impact against a tired Rangers side.
But Steven Gerrard’s men did well to handle the player, whose raw talent was clear to see from the moment he came into the game.
At Ibrox, Rangers secured a 2-2 draw and held on in a 0-0 draw over in Spain. On both occasions, they had to handle the wanted man and the likes of Jon Flanagan, Joe Worrall, Connor Goldson and Andy Halliday did well to contain him.
Rangers can take heart from those two performances and it could be something to build on in Europe, and domestically, next term.
