Nottingham Forest are ready to offload winger Barrie McKay this summer. It is being reported by the Nottingham Post that Olympiakos want the player. The Greek side are owned by the same man who owns Forest, Evangelos Marinakis. With that in mind, a deal would be easy to put together.
McKay was signed from Rangers by Mark Warburton last summer. It was a deal that, according to the BBC, cost Forest around £500,000 and left Rangers fans disappointed to see one of their star players making a move away on the cheap.
But after the sacking of Warburton, the winger has found it tough to get back in the first-team at the City Ground. Aitor Karanka has used him sparingly and that has clearly led to the interest from abroad.
So if McKay is available this summer, at a similar price, should Rangers think about bringing him back?
The wide-man had an excellent start to the season at Forest, leaving Rangers fans more then disappointed at the fact he had left in the first place.

In the end, he forced a move. Speaking about his exit in July he made it clear it was his treatment under former Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha that made him forced the exit.
Steven Gerrard is now in charge at Rangers, so times have changed at Ibrox. However, nobody will have forgotten just how impressive McKay was during his time in Glasgow.
Rangers need to bring in some improvements this summer if they are to start pushing Celtic in the Old Firm chase. Out wide is certainly an area Rangers need to bring in new recruits. Of course, bringing in a new face always carry risks. Players will not always adapt to a new club or settle in the environment. Rangers know that McKay can be a hit in Scottish football, as he has done so already.
Forest are unlikely to ask for much more than they paid Rangers for 12 months ago and such a fee would not be out of the price range for the Glasgow club.
Rangers fans would surely welcome back McKay, who is a player they could certainly welcome back into the fold at Ibrox. Gerrard would be right to rectify the difficult decision that Rangers had to make with McKay last summer and bring the 23-year-old back north of the border.
