Rangers fans slam performance of Brandon Barker in defeat to Celtic

Celtic’s dominance in Scottish football continued yesterday afternoon as they beat Rangers 1-0 in the League Cup Final.

Steven Gerrard’s wait for silverware goes on, as the Hoops remain on course for a quadruple treble.

In truth, the Light Blues were far the better side in yesterday’s contest.

Christopher Jullien opened the scoring against the run of play but despite playing against 10-men for the last 23 minutes, Rangers couldn’t capitalise.

Alfredo Morelos missed a penalty in the aftermath of the sending off, compounding the misery for Rangers.

Gerrard would have loved to secure a first honour in eight years for Rangers. The wait now goes on and every emphasis will surely be placed on the Premiership.

After the game, the Rangers supporters were hurt. The finger-pointing started and some players came in for some stern criticism.

One of those players was Brandon Barker. The ex-Manchester City man was introduced in the 74th minute and failed to make an impact.

Many supporters felt that Liverpool loanee Sheyi Ojo would have been a better option from the bench, given Barker’s sporadic form since arriving at Ibrox.

Here is a selection of Tweets from the Gers supporters slamming the cameo of Barker:
