Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has heaped praise on Ryan Kent during his pre-match press conference, after the winger claimed the Scottish Premiership Player of the Month.
The 23-year-old has enjoyed a brilliant start to the 2020/21 campaign, scoring three goals and registering two assists with the Light Blues yet to concede a goal.
Kent signed permanently for the club last summer, costing Rangers £7.5 million from Premier League giants Liverpool.
Following his accolade, Gerrard told the assembled media of his admiration for his player.
He told the club’s official media team: “Ryan Kent has been top class and hasn’t let any noise affect him, he is scoring goals and looking very dangerous. He is really taking it to opposition teams and he’s settled and enjoying his football.
“Kent deserves to be Player of the Month and has been in sensational form. He has been fantastic to work with.”
Rangers currently sit top of the Scottish Premiership, although it is, of course, early days in the 2020/21 campaign.
The challenge this season for Rangers is to end their long run without silverware and in the process stop bitter rivals Celtic winning their tenth title in succession.
Kent struggled with consistency last season but this season he has started to show why Rangers forked out the money to sign him permanently.
On his day he is arguably the best player in his position in the Scottish Premiership and he’s an asset to the Rangers ranks.
The former Liverpool youngster has been linked with a move to Leeds United this summer but the interest does seem to have wavered somewhat now.
On current form, Rangers would be wise to ignore any Premier League advances, with the winger in flying form for the Light Blues.
