Rangers are keen on signing Watford striker Andre Gray on loan this summer, according to the Herald.
They report that Steven Gerrard wants to add greater firepower to his squad and has set his sights on the Hornets hitman, who has nine goals to his name in all competitions this season.
Gray joined Watford in 2017 for a fee the BBC reported was £18.5m, and Spotrac claim that the Englishman earns £70,000 a week at Vicarage Road.
The Herald report that Gray’s wage demands could be the main stumbling block – unsurprisingly – and suggests that selling top scorer Alfredo Morelos is the only way that the Gers could fund the move.

While having Gray and Morelos, as well as Jermain Defoe, at the club would be incredible in terms of firepower, getting a Premier League striker who is playing regularly could well be expensive business.
That means that Morelos is likely to go by the wayside – for big money, after an outstanding season – if Gerrard wants Gray through the door.
But that would leave him with Defoe and Gray on loan deals, which is great for next season, but perhaps not so handy in the longer term.
So it’s important that the money when Morelos does eventually go is invested in sustainable options across the team as well.
