Rangers and Rotherham fans react on Twitter to Jake Hastie’s Ibrox return

A number of Rangers fans are amongst those to take to social media to react to the announcement that the Gers made on their official website concerning Jake Hastie.

The Scottish Premiership title-contenders have confirmed on their official website that Hastie has been recalled from his loan spell at Rotherham United.

Hastie made 16 appearances for the Millers during his time in League One. However, he had not started a game for Paul Warne’s men since mid-December.

Few would have imagined that Hastie’s season-long loan would end early after his first handful of appearances for Rotherham.

The 20-year-old scored in his first three appearances for the club. But he would not score again before his return to Ibrox.

The reaction to his loan ending early is interesting. There are plenty of Rotherham fans on Twitter suggesting that they are pleased to see him leave.

It is noted that he made a brilliant start. And it is suggested by a couple of fans that he deserved more game-time. However, a few supporters are not disappointed to hear of his departure.

On the other hand, a number of Rangers fans believe that having Hastie back could be a blessing for Steven Gerrard’s side.

Some are wary of expecting too much from him given that he did struggle at the New York Stadium. However, others have welcomed his return and suggested that he could have a role to play.

The likes of Sheyi Ojo and Brandon Barker have struggled since arriving in the summer. And some have suggested that Hastie could jump above both men in the pecking order almost immediately.

Here is what some of the Rotherham fans made of Hastie’s departure…
