Reported Glasgow Rangers and Celtic target Renato Tapia has spoken about his future amid reports that he has already picked his next club, with Ibrox and Parkhead just two potential destinations.
The versatile Peru international will be leaving Feyenoord when his contract expires in the summer – he has been on the fringes at De Kuip for some time and spent a period on loan with fellow Eredivisie side Willem II last year.
Tapia was already being linked with a move to Rangers and Celtic in January, by Voetbal International, and Peruvian outlet Libero suggested in May that the defender and midfielder could be on his way to Glasgow in the next transfer window.

However, it’s not just the Scottish Premiership pair who are reportedly keen on the 24-year-old – the likes of Celta Vigo and LA Galaxy are also said to be keeping close tabs, according to the Daily Record, while Le10 Sport have thrown Real Betis’ name in the hat.
Peru head coach Juan Carlos Oblitas recently told Ovacion: “Tapia is going to get a team and what’s more, I think he already has. I don’t want to say who it is though because he still has a contract until the end of the month. I feel calm when it comes to him.”
On the topic of his departure from Feyenoord and his future, Tapia told the club media team, as translated by the Daily Record: “It has been a great trip in the Netherlands. I grew up here and continue with a good feeling.
“Playing in De Kuip was always great. I will definitely miss that. Just like the guys I’ve known for a while. It will be weird not to be with them in one field and in the same dressing room anymore. The farewell is going to get emotional, although I know I’m going to see them again. What does the future hold? We will see.”
TBR View:
Tapia was tipped for stardom in the Netherlands several years ago, with Football Oranje listing him in the top 50 Eredivisie Under-21 stars to watch in 2016 and describing his talent as “undoubted”.
“Tapia is a versatile midfielder who can play in front of the defence, in the centre and even as a number ten or on the wings,” read the article.
“Big and strong, Tapia is a tough tackler and is difficult to brush off the ball when dribbling. Tapia has a good long shot, but needs to work on his passing, which can be erratic.”
However, his time at Feyenoord is now coming to an end after just 69 appearances and seven Eredivisie starts this season – will he be reviving his career at Ibrox or Parkhead, or will he head elsewhere?
