Randal Kolo Muani’s ex-boss has already told Tottenham what to expect from ‘phenomenal’ forward

Thomas Frank is preparing to bolster his front line at Tottenham amid the impending arrival of Randal Kolo Muani.

Frank denied plans to sign an attacker following the 1-0 loss against Bournemouth on Saturday, which now appears to have been merely a smoke screen.

TBR Football can exclusively reveal that Kolo Muani will sign a loan deal with Spurs only a day after his proposed move to Juventus collapsed.

The 26-year-old enjoyed a successful loan spell in Turin last season, scoring eight goals in 16 Serie A appearances as he had appeared to have rediscovered his best form away from Paris Saint-Germain.

And now, with Frank set to welcome a new centre forward at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Kolo Muani’s former manager has already told the Lilywhites what they can expect from the Frenchman.

Christian Gourcuff loves Randal Kolo Muani

Christian Gourcuff handed Kolo Muani his professional debut for Nantes during a 3-0 loss against Saint Etienne in 2018.

The former boss went on to retire in 2020, and Tottenham fans will undoubtedly be excited by what Gourcuff said about Kolo Muani that same year.

“(Randal) seems to have the ability to play as a lone striker, he’s got an excellent timing in the air, his leap is phenomenal. He moves well, he’s clever, he’s fast. There’s a wide range of things he can do from a technical standpoint. That’s the harmonious ensemble of his abilities that makes him very interesting.”

Kolo Muani has been dubbed “one of the best” as he prepares to test himself in the Premier League this season, and will help improve the depth at centre forward.

Although Richarlison has hit the ground running thus far, he is not considered to be a long-term option to lead the line, with Dominic Solanke still yet to return to full-match fitness.

Spurs considered a loan move for Kolo Muani in January, but, of course, they lost out on his signature to Juventus, and former boss Ange Postecoglou went into the second half of the campaign without reinforcements in attack.

As revealed earlier on deadline day that Spurs would pursue the Frenchman, it now appears Kolo Muani will finally play his football at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Thomas Frank finally has attacking depth at Tottenham

The Spurs boss has made a sensational start in North London; barring the loss against Bournemouth, he has won his first two matches in charge.

However, the most recent result provided a glaring insight into the Lilywhites’ lack of top-quality options in the forward positions.

Xavi Simons’ £52m arrival was certainly a step in the right direction, and now with Kolo Muani, the pieces are starting to fall into place for Frank.

The pair are arriving after enjoying productive campaigns at their respective clubs and have all the tools to make an immediate impact at Tottenham.
