Ralph Hasenhuttl’s job at Southampton is safe for the time being despite the Saints being in the relegation zone, according to the Daily Mail.
They report that Katharina Liebherr handed Hasenhuttl a boost at the club’s Christmas party last weekend, throwing her weight behind her manager.
The Saints go into the clash against fellow strugglers Aston Villa this weekend seeking a crucial victory which would lift them out of the bottom three at the expense of Dean Smith’s side.
The report does say, however, that there are concerns within the dressing room that Hasenhuttl may be unable to arrest the slump at St Mary’s.

TBR’s View – Hasenhuttl has the right ideas but hasn’t produced enough improvement in either box
Southampton were a lifeless club lacking an identity when Hasenhuttl took over and his ideals – high pressing football with pace out wide – are the right ones for the club.
But it is what happens in both boxes which defines relegation dogfights and Hasenhuttl hasn’t been able to tighten up his defence enough or improve his side’s finishing.
It looks as if that won’t cost him his job for the time being, but the Villa clash could have a major impact on the season and the job security of the Saints boss.
