Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl believes his side’s trip to face Tottenham in their FA Cup fourth round replay tonight holds no fear.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Hasenhuttl said his side played well despite a 4-0 loss against Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday.
He said: “It’s the third time now we have played them in the past few weeks. We aren’t scared, we are going there to show another good performance and then we have a look to see if it’s enough.
“The (post-Liverpool) debrief was a not-so-long one. We showed a few positive things from the first half where we really played a good game. It was an important signal for us to see how competitive we are against the best team in the world, and that helps.”

TBR’s View – Hasenhuttl knows how to get results against Mourinho
Hasenhuttl’s Southampton have beaten and drawn with Tottenham at home in recent weeks. The Saints’ organised, high-tempo gameplan has had success against a Spurs side which lacks identity under Jose Mourinho.
Spurs may well be buoyed by that 2-0 victory over Manchester City on Sunday. That said, that win wasn’t exactly a Mourinho masterclass and owed plenty to City’s penalty miss and further profligacy.
Hasenhuttl may opt for a more cautious gameplan on the road but considering his side were able to put in a performance he was pleased with at the home of the world champions at the weekend, they should be fearless about a trip to Spurs.
