Aston Villa produced a stunning performance to beat Arsenal 3-0 at The Emirates on Sunday evening thanks to a Jack Grealish-inspired performance against Mikel Arteta’s side – and Raheem Sterling has praised one Villa star on Instagram.
Trezeguet gave Villa the lead after Grealish’s pass split the Arsenal defence, allowing Matty Targett to cross for the Egyptian to tap home. A beautiful pass from Douglas Luiz was volleyed across the box, allowing Ollie Watkins to nab a second.
A moment of magic Grealish was behind the third. His run from inside his own half was followed by an inch-perfect pass to Watkins who made it three. It was a stunning performance, not least because Villa secured another clean sheet.
The Midlands outfit climbed to sixth in the Premier League table, with their fifth clean sheet from seven league games. Tyrone Mings, a £20million (BBC) permanent signing last summer from Bournemouth, posted on Instagram after his superb display.
The 27-year-old has played every single minute of Premier League football for Villa this season, and has been called up to the England side for this month’s international break – with England facing Ireland, Belgium and Iceland.
Sterling responded to Mings’ Instagram, posting a one-word message to his England teammate – while Mings also gained praise from Aston Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez, who labelled the left-footed centre-back as “incredible”.
