Raheem Sterling and Andy Robertson tease Liverpool player, Curtis Jones also reacts as video uploaded
Liverpool star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has posted a compilation of clips from a training session ahead of a return to pre-season. The England ace spent the majority of last season on the sidelines injured. But he looks raring to go. Raheem Sterling, Andy Robertson and Curtis Jones replied.
Oxlade-Chamberlain, 27, played less than 300 minutes in all competitions for Liverpool last season. Injury prevented him from consistent game time. Now, he will be looking to get back to full fitness with the Reds needing a replacement for Gini Wijnaldum. He will be keen to show, he is the man.
The versatile £120,000-a-week (Spotrac) midfielder has entered the final two years of his Reds contract, too. He has plenty to improve and that could be the reason for his extra work ahead of pre-season training. The ex-Arsenal man posted a video on his Instagram page, looking very sharp.
What have Sterling and Jones said to Liverpool ace Oxlade-Chamberlain?
It promises to be a big season for Oxlade-Chamberlain. The exit of Wijnaldum does open up a spot – with Jones also likely to be a contender to play more regularly. Is Naby Keita’s future at Liverpool? Unlikely. So, there is a spot opening up and Oxlade-Chamberlain needs to have a good season.
Manchester City star and England’s Euro 2020 hero Sterling commented, teasing Liverpool star Oxlade-Chamberlain by asking “how many takes?”, while Liverpool ace Jones was impressed with his teammate’s use of his left foot. Andy Robertson also commented, joking he had been there “all day”.
