Rafael van der Vaart has posted a battle cry on Twitter as Tottenham Hotspur take on Manchester City in the quarter finals of the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Spurs take to their new stadium on Tuesday night in the first leg of all-English tie. It is just their second match at the £1billion stadium, after beating Crystal Palace in the Premier League last Wednesday.
The odds are stacked in favour of Premier League champions Manchester City, who have won the last three meetings between the two sides. Pep Guardiola’s side beat Spurs 1-0 last time out, with Riyad Mahrez scoring the only goal.
Van der Vaart played in the Spurs legends match at the new ground during the international break, and he posted a Tweet that will delight fans of the north London club.
This club and new stadium deserves big nights like tonight. They belong here. In my time @SpursOfficial we managed to get to the QF, but I believe this team can go one step further! Go make us proud boys #COYS pic.twitter.com/D0tliinxim

Spurs simply have to win against Manchester City on Tuesday night to stand any chance of knocking Guardiola’s men out of the competition.
The first leg is played at their new stadium and certainly gives Mauricio Pochettino’s men a chance. A draw or a loss means Spurs will have to go to the Etihad and win.
Manchester City have played 26 times at home this season, and have won 24 of those matches. They have suffered two defeats, to Crystal Palace in the Premier League and to Lyon in the Champions League.
