Newcastle United host Huddersfield Town on Saturday afternoon in the Premier League and it’s imperative they pick up a victory at St James’ Park.

Rafael Benitez’s team are just one point above the relegation places and need to start pulling to safety, while their upcoming opponents are rooted to the bottom of the table.

The Magpies should be able to cash in against a vulnerable Huddersfield team and that should mean a change in approach.

Newcastle have found success with a 3-5-2 formation in recent games, but should adapt to be more creative.

Benitez should go back to a back four, which would allow for the return of defender Paul Dummett.

Dummett has not featured since 2 January due to an injury, but is back in contention and recently completed 45 minutes in a friendly against CSKA Moscow.

The 27-year-old is a dependable left-back that could slot in nicely against Huddersfield and it would also free up an extra attacking position.

Matt Ritchie has done exceptionally well in a left wing-back role during Dummett’s absence, but the former could be pushed forward to try make a difference in the final third.

Dummett rarely turns in a poor display in a Newcastle shirt and they are going to need consistent performers like him to get them out of relegation trouble.
