Rafa Mujica has had a fine start to life in his second loan spell away from Leeds United and is now talking about a promotion battle of his own.
Mujica arrived in July with a view to playing a role in Carlos Corberan’s under-23 side. However, just one month later, he was sent out on loan to Spanish second-tier side Extremadura until the end of the season.
Unfortunately, he struggled to make an impact with the club and Leeds recalled him in January before sending him elsewhere.

Mujica has since landed on his feet at Villarreal B. The 21-year-old has scored three goals in four games for his new side and is yet to taste defeat since the switch. Such form has helped his loan side to second-place in Spain’s third-tier, just two points behind leaders Sadabell.
Speaking to Castellon Informacion, Mujica spoke of his side’s chances of winning promotion to the Segunda Liga.
“We are in a great moment. The team works spectacular, gives everything every day. The teammates are at a very high level and we want to continue with this positive dynamic.
“We are calm and confident in our work. We are very excited and want to face the matches and prefer not to look much at the league table and focus on giving everything in each game. ”

There is no doubt that Mujica is now showcasing the sort of talent that first attracted Leeds to his signing.
Of course, back in West Yorkshire, Leeds are in a promotion battle of their own. Who knows? At the end of the season, Mujica could have a double celebration on his hands.
If his form can also lead to a chance at Leeds in the future, then this could be a defining spell for the young Spaniard.
