Rafa Mujica has posted on Twitter for the first time as a Leeds United player after agreeing to join the Yorkshire club from Barcelona this summer on a free transfer.
Mujica, 20, has come through the La Masia academy and was a regular for Barcelona’s B-team last season – who play in the third tier of Spanish football. But the Spaniard failed to secure a new deal.
That is despite scoring seven goals for the B-team in 33 outings, 10 of which came from the bench and many were from out wide. Not a bad return, then, for a player who was hardly used in his natural position.
It has seen Leeds opt to lure the star to Yorkshire, and Mujica has thanked the Championship club for placing their trust in his services – before sending a heartfelt message to Barcelona to thank them for the past few years.

TBR’s view – Can Mujica break into Leeds first team?
It is a tall order. The Whites currently boast Patrick Bamford and Kemar Roofe as the first two options, while Tyler Roberts is likely to be third choice.
Youngster Ryan Edmondson scored almost at a ratio of a goal a game for the club’s second string and he is expected to make the step up into the first team next season, while Kun Temenuzhkov is also showing promise.
It makes Mujica potentially sixth choice, then, but a string of good performances and goals in the Under-23 side could change all that. It must be noted that Mujica’s versatility, which allows him to play out wide, could aid his chances.
