Italian outlet CalcioMercato have claimed that Lazio and AC Milan are interested in signing Zenit St. Petersburg striker Artem Dzyuba, just a few months after Tottenham tried to land the Russia veteran in January – and Spurs could move again.
Dzyuba, 31, has starred for Zenit this season – scoring 15 goals in 28 appearances as well as laying on an impressive 12 assists for his Zenit teammates. However, the 42-time international is out of contract at Zenit this summer.
CalcioMercato claim that both Lazio and Milan want to sign the player that Jose Mourinho tried to lure to north London in January. SempreMilan’s version of the story states that Spurs cannot be ruled out from signing Dzyuba this summer.
TBR’s view – Should Tottenham reignite January move?
Spurs failed to bring in a striker in January to replace the injured Harry Kane and it has shown. Steven Bergwijn and Lucas Moura have been used up front, with Son Heung-min injured, and neither are talismanic strikers.
Tottenham need a target man to play off, and bring the likes of Son, Moura and Bergwijn into the game. Dzyuba is certainly that man and given his age, he is likely to be willing to play back-up to Kane. On a free, he would be a terrific signing.
