Newcastle United are now in the top half of the Premier League table after earning a fourth consecutive win on Saturday.

The Magpies ran out 3-0 winners at Norwich, with Joelinton scoring a brace and Bruno Guimaraes also netting.

At the start of the year, Newcastle and the Canaries were relegation rivals.

But on Saturday, Eddie Howe’s charges showed just how far ahead they are of the bottom three teams.

Newcastle could’ve easily racked up a more convincing scoreline, having registered 13 shots and seven on target.

Now, the Magpies are ninth in the table, a remarkable transformation over the past few months.

While Joelinton and Bruno deserve praise for their goalscoring exploits, the defence deserves a shout out too.

Newcastle’s back line has conceded just one goal in their last four matches.

Dan Burn did well against the Canaries, even coming close to getting his first Newcastle goal.

Several media outlets raved about him at full time.

So dependable in the air,” wrote Chronicle Live, who gave him 8/10.

“Won every header and almost scored his first Toon goal.”

The Shields Gazette went with 7/10, writing: “Put a first-half header narrowly wide.

“A handful for Norwich at both ends of the pitch.”

Newcastle World also gave Burn 7/10, writing: “Yet another quietly excellent display by Blyth-born Burn.

“Similar to Lascelles, he got better as the game progressed.”

Burn has proven a shrewd purchase for Newcastle, and as a boyhood Magpies fan, he’ll be relishing every second of it.
