Pundit surprised Tottenham aren't making offer to star in talks with PL rival
Darren Bent has told talkSPORT (broadcast on 18/1; 9:20) that he is surprised that Tottenham Hotspur do not appear to have made a move for Christian Eriksen as the Dane discusses a potential move for Brentford.
Eriksen appears to be edging closer to a potential return to the Premier League. Of course, Inter Milan let him go with Eriksen unable to play in Serie A after being fitted with a defibrillator.
The Telegraph reports that he is in early talks with the Bees. He knows Thomas Frank from working under the Brentford boss with the Denmark youth teams. And Brentford also have a host of Danish players in their squad – so a move would appear to make a lot of sense.

Obviously, with Eriksen now a free agent, Tottenham fans must have given some thought to the idea of the 29-year-old returning to North London.
He knows Antonio Conte from his spell with Inter. And Spurs have arguably not yet managed to replace the playmaker.
And following the links with Brentford, Bent admitted that he would have thought that Tottenham would have made a move for Eriksen.
“Brentford seems the perfect landing spot,” he told talkSPORT. “For someone who is that creative, Newcastle will have looked at that – they need a playmaker. I’m surprised Spurs haven’t looked at him, but I know he left on not the best terms.”
Tottenham fans will be desperate for Christian Eriksen to be a success wherever he goes
It is simply amazing that Eriksen is still here. Everyone understandably feared the worst when he suffered a cardiac arrest at Euro 2020.
The idea that he could get back to playing at the highest level is staggering. Obviously, everyone will be keen to see Eriksen back to his best. But, more importantly, they will be desperate to see him remain healthy.
It may disappoint Tottenham fans if he does indeed join a Premier League rival. However, they will likely be absolutely delighted to see him playing again, no matter where he goes.
And you never know. With Brentford pursuing a short-term deal, perhaps a future return to Tottenham cannot yet be ruled out entirely.
