Pundit says two Arsenal players have now been completely figured out

Arsenal are really struggling in an attacking sense right now.

The Gunners can’t seem to find the net often enough, the goals have dried up, and more worryingly, so has the creativity.

Indeed, this isn’t just a crisis of finishing, Arsenal, overall, are looking less and less dangerous, with both Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli not finding the same type of form they showed last season.

Speaking on ESPN, Janusz Michallik has been discussing Saka and Martinelli’s recent showings, and he says that everyone has now learned how to play against these two players, claiming that they’ve been figured out.

Saka and Martinelli have been figured out

Michallik gave his verdict on these two players.

“I mean, learning and being less predictable. Everyone has learned how to play Martinelli and even Saka, everyone is forcing those two players inside and you almost don’t have to do it because they do it to themselves, they’re not the type to keep the width, that is wonderful on one hand, but they keep repeating that and because of that the full-backs have to be exceptional and they aren’t doing that,” Michallik said.

Change it up

Michallik is right, both Saka and Martinelli appear to have been figured out, and they need to change their games.

As the pundit says, both players are always too keen to go inside, so maybe a good idea would be to swap wings for periods during the game.

We’re not saying to make that switch permanently, but have a 10 minute spell where you play on the opposite flank and give the full-back something else to think about.

Saka and Martinelli have been doing the same things for 18 months now, and it’s stopped working.

These two players need to find a way to change up their game and rediscover their best form.

Let’s hope that Mikel Arteta can find a solution to Arsenal’s recent woes.
