Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is under pressure and pundit Didier Domi believes he’s just not the right fit at Old Trafford.
Ten Hag is the latest manager to come under pressure since Sir Alex Ferguson left. Talk of players being unhappy is one again rife and the United boss is also seeing his team lose games on the field.
Despite a good start to life as United manager, it does feel like things are slipping away a bit for Ten Hag.
The Dutchman sees his team take on in-form Liverpool this weekend. It’s a game they’re expected to lose, with pundits predicting nothing but three points for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

And speaking for BEIN Sports last night, former Newcastle defender Didier Domi believes that Ten Hag lacks the communication skills of a Jurgen Klopp or Pep Guardiola to really succeed at the top level.
“I think it’s not the right fit. Even when they had Mourinho it was not the right fit in terms of play. You know, what Manchester United is. And you can see with Ten Hag, even though he had a good first season the higher you go, the less a coach but you become more a manager. You see his communication, how the words come out, he’s got a bit of a problem. And I think this is the same in the training ground as well, just to get the body language, that high level verbal communication like Klopp or Guardiola and I don’t think he has it,” Domi said.
Ten Hag could learn from the best
There might simply be a bit of a language issue or it might be that he delivers lines of information in a way that certain people don’t like.
Regardless, given the money he is being paid for a top job at a huge club, it’s something Erik ten Hag could definitely look to address if it is indeed an issue.
Sure, Domi’s observation here could be much to do about nothing. It might be that the players simply don’t want Ten Hag anymore so no matter what he says, it’s going to matter little.
One thing is for sure though and that’s that Manchester United have got to sort this out one way or another.
Ten Hag is not the first manager to have these issues and one way or another, the club needs to root it out.
