Pundit says people don't realise how physical Arsenal star Gabriel Jesus is

ESPN pundit Craig Burley has claimed that people don’t realise how physical Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus really is.

The Brazilian joined the Gunners from Manchester City for £45 million this summer (Sky Sports). He has been a fine signing so far, having scored four goals and provided three assists in his first seven Premier League games.

Pundit says people don’t realise how physical Arsenal star Gabriel Jesus is

Arsenal are currently on top of the Premier League table and Jesus is one of the biggest reasons why.

The 25-year-old’s seven direct goal contributions in as many games this season is one thing, but his work rate and connection with all the players around him has been sensational so far.

Burley has been impressed with Arsenal this season, and he hailed their summer signings – Jesus in particular. He believes that fans don’t realise how physical the Brazilian really is.

He said on ESPN FC: “They (Arsenal) have recruited well, they’ve got good players in there.

“They’ve got a striker who has got great movement. He’s physical, I don’t think people realise how physical Gabriel Jesus is. He uses his body, uses that frame, he’s not the biggest, but he uses it brilliantly.

“They’ve got so many different facets to the game at the moment. If you’re an Arsenal fan, you’ve got to be enjoying football with some backbone to it.”

Jesus’ physicality is something that has definitely surprised a few people this season.

One of the best examples of that is his role in the build-up to Martin Odegaard’s opener against Bournemouth last month. Jesus just brushed off Marcos Senesi, took the ball down, danced his way past three players and helped the Gunners take the lead.

Arsenal look a completely different side this season thanks to Jesus up top. Gunners fans absolutely adore him, and if he keeps performing like this until the end of the campaign, Mikel Arteta’s men could achieve something really special.

The Gunners’ next game is at home against Tottenham Hotspur, and if Jesus stars in that game and helps Arsenal pick up the win, he’ll become even more of a hero to fans at the Emirates.
